So I downgraded to a Husky Rolling Tool Bag ($79 from Home Depot). Immediately, my haulage went just below 50 lbs. Beautiful! But happiness didn’t last long. I went through 3 of them in 2 years. The soft-sided Husky wasn’t meant for such abuse. I went back to Pelican. I chose the Pelican Air 1607, a much spacious case, but still managed to keep my loaded weight under 50 lbs.

After 2 years of heavy usage, the case was all scratched up, with smudges and gouges everywhere, but it was still perfectly usable with its functionality intact. I lost a wheel (busted bearing) at one time. It was quickly replaced with a spare from my colleague, so I didn’t have a chance to test out their warranty service. From the grapevine, their customer service was exemplary and folks had nothing but good experience with them.
